Is JAMB change of institution out?

Yes!!! JAMB change of institution, courses and other data corrections has commence and still ongoing. Those who are yet to do theirs are advised to do so immediately before the deadline.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) management has activated the portal where candidates who made mistakes while filling their UTME and Direct Entry registration forms can now make corrections for the following categories:

1. Names Correction: This allows candidates to apply for the correction of names where there are spelling errors or error in the arrangement, e.g. Surname, Firstname or Lastname (Correction can only be done once).
2. Date of Birth Correction (Correction can only be done once).
3. Passport Photograph Correction (Correction can only be done once).
4. Gender Correction: Supporting documents may be required.  (Correction can only be done once).
5. State/LGA Correction: Supporting documents may be required. (Correction can only be done once).
6. Profile Correction (Correction can only be done once).
7. Choice of Institution/Course Correction: This allows candidates to apply for a change of course or Institution (Correction can only be done multiple times with separate payments).

How much is change of institution?

Candidates who are interested in changing their course, institution or data corrections should take note that cost of the form is Two thousand Five Hundred Naira Only (N2,500).

Before you proceed to do that, please make sure you do the following;

• Be sure of the Course/Institution you would like to make changes. Verify if the course is available in the school using the JAMB Brochure.
• Ensure that the school you are changing to does not usually have a cut off mark higher than your score.
• Most schools have a lot of candidates already, like University of Ilorin. So be sure you have up to 2 to 4 options, Just in case, your preferred choice is not available, you can take the next option.
• Ensure you select a Course/Institution that is in line with your subject combination to avoid being screened out during your school’s admission screening exercise.

JAMB Change Of Course / Institution & Data Correction Procedure

• Go to your JAMB portal https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/
• Login to your Jamb profile with your Email Address and password.
• After successfully logging in, Click on ‘Registration (2023 only)’ from the list of services on the left side.
• From the drop-down, select ‘2023 UTME Data Correction‘ / ‘2023 DE Data Correction’.
• Then proceed with payment.

After successfull payment, visit the nearest JAMB office, or a JAMB accredited centre to complete the correction process.

JAMB Change Of Course / Institution & Data Correction Procedure for (2022 Downward)

• Go to your JAMB portal https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/
• Login to your Jamb profile with your Email Address and password.
• After successfully logging in, Click on ‘Application for Correction of Data (2022 Downward)’ from the list of services on the left side.
• From the drop-down, select the one you wish to correct, i.e. Course/Institution, Names, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin.

Please Note that correction of Jamb data should not be done at any random centres not approved by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), doing so is at your own risk.

Can I change my institution after writing JAMB?

Yes you can, Once you have accepted the admission, it is advisable to immediately change your initial course to the new course you have been offered to study. If it is another institution that offered you admission, you have to change your institution to the new one that has offered you admission as first choice.  If not, you will be unable to print your Jamb admission letter and the admission will be withdrawn.

If you reject the admission, then you do not have to do anything. Your name will automatically be available in the admission market place for admission consideration.

How long will it take for Change of Course / Institution & Data Corrections to Reflect on JAMB Portal

JAMB Course/Institution, Names, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin, etc could take up to 24 hours or a couple of days before it can be approved by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

How to Confirm / Verify if the Change of Course / Institution & Data Corrections has reflected on JAMB Portal

• Go to your JAMB portal https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/
• Login to your Jamb profile with your Email Address and password.
• After successfully logging in, scroll down then locate and click the ‘Check Admission Status’ tab.
• Next, click on ‘Access my CAPS’
• Finally, find and click on ‘My Choice’ to confirm if the changes has reflected.

N/B: you’re advised to keep refreshing or visiting the page if your changes has not reflected on your Jamb profile.

How many times can I change institution in JAMB?

According to Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) management candidates are only allowed to change courses, institutions and other data correction not more than two times, if you do the first change/correction and experience an error, you are allowed to make a second change.

The deadline for the Jamb change of course/Institution and data corrections has not announced by the management. Meanwhile, JAMB Portal will remain open for correction of data until admission exercise ends.
